Phil Leake has more than 20 years of experience working in health promotion and wellness, exercise physiology and nutrition in the Sacramento area. He is a Clinical Exercise Specialist and has been the program coordinator of the Mercy General Hospital Preventive Health Center since 1994. He holds a masterʼs degree in exercise physiology from California State University at Northridge. He is a certified exercise specialist and a past president of the California Wellness Information Network (CalWIN), a local Sacramento wellness coalition. He was a Hill Physicians Medical Group class instructor since 1999-2007. Recently, Mercy General's Employee Wellness program, Choose Health and Wellness (C.H.W.), was honored with the 2008 California Fit Business Gold Award for their collaborative efforts in improving employee wellness. Phil is a proud member of the committee guiding this program.

The mission of the Preventive Health Center is to promote general welfare, prevent illness and to provide evaluation, exercise, health education and health promotion services to the greater Sacramento area. Their goal is to assist individuals, groups and companies to reach this end. Physicians, clinical exercise physiologists and other health promotion professionals focusing on the proven aspects of preventive health provide the center's health promotion, nutrition and exercise evaluation and prescription services.
