Scott Mariani is a partner in WS+B. Based in the Morristown, NJ, he has over 15 years of experience in providing tax and health care consulting services to the non-profit sector, specializing in providing integrated health care delivery systems, hospitals, medical centers, nursing homes, physician groups and other organizations. Types of tax and health care consulting services that Scott provides include compliance with not-for-profit IRS rules regarding maintenance of tax exempt status, review of executive compensation and benefit plans, employee benefit issues and retirement plans, and feasibility and due-diligence planning; joint ventures and affiliations and corporate restructuring and reorganization strategies. Scott’s clients include: Capital Health System; CentraState Medical Center; Cathedral Healthcare System; Meridian Health System, Palisades Medical Center; QualCare, Inc; Somerset Medical Center; Staten Island University Hospital; Summit Medical Group; and the Saint Barnabas Health Care System. Scott is a graduate of Villanova University, with a bachelor’s degree in Accounting . He received his juris doctor from Seton Hall Law School. Scott is a member of the American Health Lawyers Association and the Healthcare Financial Management Association, where he has been a speaker on health care tax matters/issues. Scott has provided pro bono tax services to the Bergen County Legal Services for individuals who require tax advice but cannot afford to pay an attorney or accountant; his pro bono work was recognized with an award from the Bergen County Legal Services.
