As the Provider Relations Manager
for Hospice of the North Shore (HNS), Eileen Fagan, RN, BSN, CHPN, provides ongoing education and outreach to broaden the
understanding and use of hospice, bereavement support,
and
palliative care services. With 10
years of
palliative
care experience at HNS, Eileen plays a pivotal role in
educating health care
professionals about
the benefits of utilizing and partnering with hospice services
to meet the needs of area patients and families. She has provided
hundreds of
educational programs to groups of all sizes on a number of topics
related to
end-of-life care and palliative care services.
Eileen
brings 25 years of nursing
experience to her work. Prior
to joining HNS,
Eileen spent 10 years in home
health, including
experience as the Collaborative Practice Case Manager for the VNA of
Greater
Salem and Clinical Manager for the Marblehead Visiting Nurse
Association. She
received her Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from Salve
Regina
College
in Newport,
RI,
and is currently a master’s degree
candidate at Salem State College. She is a 2006
alumna of
the Harvard Medical School
Palliative Care Education and Practice Program. She is nationally
certified in
hospice and palliative care nursing and currently
serves as the president of the Boston Chapter of the
Hospice and
Palliative Nurses Association.
