C. Kay Freeman is a nationally recognized author, and consultant, and President and CEO of Health System Strategies based in Atlanta, Georgia. She is the author of four best selling books on physician agreements, a contributing author to national national physician organization related publications, including: The Journal of Medical Practice Management (JMPM); American Medical Group Association (AMGA); American Health Lawyers Association (AHLA); and referenced in various AMA news articles.

She is a specialist in organizational strategy, IPA clinical integration, physician practice mergers, physician organizational structures, leadership, governance, and physician hospital joint ventures/integration.

Her extensive experience includes:

  • Over 20 Years of Consulting Experience in the national healthcare arena providing consulting services to physician organizations, law firms, and hospitals nationwide.
  • Served as president of Medical Administration Resource Center, Inc., a national consulting company specializing in physician organization structure & leadership
  • Served as president of Ambulatory Resources, Inc. (ARI) an ambulatory subsidiary she developed ground-up for a major large national hospital system. Subsidiary Focus: ambulatory surgery centers, ambulatory imaging centers, & level 1-urgent care centers.
  • Nationally facilitated over 400 structured fact finding, strategic planning, strategic positioning, and conflict resolution sessions for multi/single specialty groups, IPA’s, hospitals, academic institutions, law firms, and healthcare consulting firms.
  • Served as a monthly guest Grand Rounds Instructor for two-year period for a leading university medical residency program
