Hinsdale, Illinois-based Adventist Health Network is a physician-hospital organization formed in partnership with Adventist Midwest Health Hospital and their medical staff physicians. In 2004 Adventist Health System leadership began constructing a clinically integrated PHO. Physician and hospital leadership created an exploratory committee to investigate PHO models, as well as legal and investment issues necessary to achieve clinical integration. Two months later, Adventist Health Network was created and within six months clinical integration was underway. More than 500 physicians, working in about 200 private practices, joined the PHO within six months of its inception. Today, nearly 600 doctors participate. |
