Gwen is the Grant Writer/Fund Developer for the Elk Regional Health System in St. Marys, Pennsylvania. She has worked in healthcare for the past five years planning projects, researching and writing grants and administering the funds for a number of projects within the acute care, long term care and home health sectors of the Health System. To date approximately $10 million dollars in project funding has been realized by the Health System with Gwen’s assistance. Most recently the Health System has undertaken an alternative fuels project, being the first hospital in the state of Pennsylvania to implement an energy savings program.

Prior to entering the health care industry, Gwen assisted a number of communities in North Central Pennsylvania with community and economic development projects. Her community development career spanned two decades, realizing over $50 million dollars in funding to this rural Pennsylvania area.

Gwen is Chairman of the Elk County Redevelopment Authority, Vice President of the St. Marys Economic Development Commission, an Advisory Council member for the Elk County Leadership Program, a graduate of the Pennsylvania State University Rural Leadership Program and an instructor for the American Red Cross.

Gwen received a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics and Management from Centre College of Kentucky in Danville, Kentucky.
