Donald J. Parker
President/CEO AtlantiCare Health Services Don Parker is currently President/CEO of AtlantiCare Health Services. Prior to his present role, he held the position of Vice President of Business Development for AtlantiCare Health System for six years. He served for 15 years as President and CEO of AtlantiCare Behavioral Health (ABH). Mr. Parker’s responsibilities include managing the AtlantiCare Kids Child Care and Early Learning Centers, (five centers), Home Medical Equipment, the AtlantiCare Home Health Program, Hospice and Clinical Labs, the AtlantiCare Life Center, Kessler AtlantiCare HomeCare, AtlantiCare Occupational Medicine, Mission Health Care (F.Q.H.C) and developing new business opportunities for the organization. He has provided management services for AtlantiCare Physician Group which operates Urgent Care, Primary Care and HealthRite (in store health care) throughout Southeastern New Jersey). Mr. Parker has done numerous presentations including most recently “Mixing Milk and Medicine – The Convenient Medical Care Center Experience” for Health Tech. He has also lectured extensively on Innovation and Entrepreneurial initiatives in health care. His work in developing retail health centers has been featured in the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Physician Digest, Associated Press, MSNBC and National Public Radio. He is also on the faculty of The Richard Stockton College of New Jersey and teaches in the Social Work & Business Departments. Parker is actively involved in the community including serving as chairman of the Supreme Court Committee on Education of Families in Divorce, Board of Directors of: the Allen Community Life Center, New Jersey Council on Compulsive Gambling, United Way of Atlantic County, the ARC of Atlantic County, and the Community Justice Institute. He has also served as President of the Hammonton School Board, Kessler AtlantiCare Home Care and The New Jersey Association of Mental Health Agencies and Gilda’s Club of South Jersey. He most recently joined the Board of Trustees of Atlantic Cape Community College. Mr. Parker has received a number of awards including “Volunteer of The Year” for Atlantic County, “Director of the Year” for the United Way, “Martin Luther King Award” from the Allen Community Church, “New Jersey Association of Mental Health Agencies Leadership Award” (1998 and 1999), the “Allen Angelo Award” from United Way for campaign work, and special citations from the United States Senate and House of Representatives for Volunteer Community Contributions. A 1981 graduate of the Rutgers Graduate School of Social Work, he holds a Masters in Social Work Administration. A resident of Hammonton, Parker is married. He and his wife Susan have four children. |
