Tine Hansen-Turton, MGA
Executive Director Convenient Care Association Tine Hansen-Turton has over ten years of experience in executive management. For the past decade she has worked in the health care field and led a non-profit corporation supporting nurse-managed health care. Tine assists organizations in developing and setting up NP-run centers; provides technical assistance in the areas of fundraising and program development, policy development, health education, advocacy, program planning and health center management; conducted health policy research and outcome evaluation; establishing quality care indicators for nurse practitioner care; testifies at local, state and national executive and legislative branch levels; gives regular public health testimonies; and provides marketing and public relations. Tine’s accomplishments include, but are not limited to, establishing an integrated service delivery system (IDS) of Nurse Practitioner providers; Ensuring that Advanced Practice Registered Nurses and Physician Assistants were defined as primary care providers in the Pennsylvania Patient's Bill of Rights Act - Act 68; Negotiating changes in managed care reimbursement policies for nurse practitioners and physician assistants; Ensuring that Nurse Practitioners received prescriptive privileges in many states; Developing and implementing various national recognized health promotion and primary prevention programs in the health centers; and Securing over $30 million dollars in direct support to nurse-managed centers’ health and wellness programs and services. Tine Hansen-Turton also serves as Vice President for Health Care Access and Policy for Philadelphia Health Management Corporation, which provides executive management and administrative support for the Convenient Care Association. Philadelphia Health Management Corporation, a nonprofit public health institute, has more than 30 years experience in managing and providing technical assistance to nonprofit organizations. In this capacity, she oversees the Convenient Care Association. She also provides leadership services to other programs affiliated with PHMC, including the National Nursing Centers Consortium and Health Promotion Council. Tine publishes in many peer-review professional journals and is a regular presenter at local, state and national health care conferences. She is Co-Author of “Community and Nurse-Managed Health Centers: Getting them Started and Keeping them Going,” published by Springer Publications, and an American Journal of Nursing Book of the Year Award winner. She is a recent Eisenhower Fellow where she traveled to New Zealand and was instrumental in starting a new Nurse Practitioner movement and getting prescriptive authority for NPs. She also received the 2005 Philadelphia Business Journal Leadership Award. Tine received her BA from Slippery Rock University and her Master’s in Government Administration from University of Pennsylvania Fels Institute. She is a 2007 Juris Doctor candidate from Temple University Beasley School of Law. Tine is the first director of the CCA and has extensive experience in growing an association from infancy to national and international magnitude. |
