Kathy Cash is a nationally recognized expert in the field of health promotion.  She has trained hundreds of health promotion managers and is author of “How to Add Sparkle and Pizzazz to Your Health Promotion Program,” a highly regarded reference manual for health promotion managers. She is also a contributing author to the book, “Wellness: A Guide for Health Care Professionals.”

Kathy is a retired Air Force lieutenant colonel.  In 1988, she was asked to develop the first official wellness clinic in the United States Air Force.  This prototype clinic would form the cornerstone for Health and Wellness Centers throughout the Air Force.  Kathy also wrote the first Air Force health promotion manager orientation manual.  An updated version of this manual is still in use today, well over ten years since first publication. Prior to retirement, Kathy was a senior health promotion administrator for the Strategic Air Command and then the Air Combat Command. In that role, she sat on the Preventive Medicine Board of Directors for the Air Force Surgeon General.

After retirement, Kathy developed and managed the first civilian prevention program provided to the Department of Defense by a large Fortune 500 HMO.  This program spanned eight states and served over one million beneficiaries.

As a consultant, she has worked with several Internet ventures to provide health care and wellness services to a variety of populations.

A registered nurse and certified Health Promotion Director, Kathy is also trained in total quality management theory and is one of the few wellness managers to apply these principles to health promotion programming.  She has been a frequent speaker at national wellness conferences, including the world's oldest and largest wellness association.

Kathy is currently assisting in the research for a new book on the financial implications of increasing longevity in America. She is a frequent contributing author to the Health Promotion Practitioner magazine and the Wellness Program Management Advisor newsletter.
