Mark R. Converse is Human Resources Manager, Health Promotion & Safety for AAA Southern New England. AAA Southern New England is the 7th largest AAA in the United States with more than 1,500 employees in 38 branch and fleet offices.

Mark has over ten years of experience developing award winning, results-oriented workplace health promotion programs. This is coupled with fourteen years experience in the workers’ compensation and risk management field.

Working together with Liberty Mutual Insurance, Beacon Mutual Insurance, Blue Cross of Blue Shield RI, United HealthCare of New England, and the Worksite Wellness Council of RI, he has facilitated integrated health, wellness, and safety programs.

Since 1997, Mark has actively served as one of the founders and past Presidents of the Wellness Council of Rhode Island, an affiliate of the Wellness Councils of America (WELCOA), and on its Executive Committee & Board of Directors. In 2005 he was appointment by Governor Donald Carcieri to the Rhode Island State Wellness Steering Committee.

  • An average of $108 in medical costs saved per month per wellness program participants
  • Costs associated with low, medium and high health risk status have been quantified
  • 2006 Gold Well Workplace Award from WELCOA
  • 2000 Bronze Well Workplace Award from WELCOA (1st in Rhode Island)

Mark has a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Business Administration from Roger Williams University. He lives in Scituate, Rhode Island with this wife Laurie and three teenage daughters.
